That’s it folks… the end of Latex Lucha Day 2012.
Join us next year for Lucha Day 2 - The Re-lucha’ing
If you enjoyed this as much as we did, please do tell your friends, and get involved next year spreading around lots of Luchador photos on the 5th of May 2013.
Many thanks to all of those who helped us out with this wide spread crazy thing we tried. I’ll have a list of thanks out tomorrow when I am fully up to speed on who all got involved. I’ll be finding luchas in wide corners of the interwebs for days I think!
Special thanks to Archean for putting up with me through all the planning and exicution of this event, and for her backbreaking organizational work to make it happen. Big props to Paul Hillier our photographer and all of the Kink Engineering workshop team for keeping us sane and in business.
Cheers, and stay Lucha!

Happy #Luchaday Everyone.
I’ll keep posting stuff from our guest stars throughout the day, there’s some interesting people out there!
Post on one of our lucha photos on the fetish social media site Fetlife:
As real Mexican ( Born and raised in Mexico, not born or raised elsewhere with Mexican Parents, that is not the same) I got several things to say. First we Mexicans don’t celebrate 5 de Mayo at all, that is a stupid gringo thing just made for drinking just like Saint Pattie’s. Yup.
Second the concept is pretty cool homage with nice ideas I just got one huge complain! Why did you guys didn’t make full face luchador latex masks? why are they all open face? Most classic and even conteporary models are full face, I really get angry when ingnorant stupid people compare latex hoods to luchador masks because the tailoring and design are completely different and this was a great oportunity to develope full hoods with those cuts!
You guys achieved the top pattern magesticly, it look great! But I wish I seen full hoods like clasic Luchador looks like “El Santo” Blue Demon” or something as neat as “Tinieblas” just google him and that is cool idea to develope a hardcore latex hood and the nose pannels would be something never done in latex before and it would look very different from regular hood tailoring and very confortable and easy.
Never the less, great homage and I hope you take this notes for second generation if this is sucessful ;)
Next time, do more homework, I’ll gladly help!
Van Hœt? I didn’t know you were Mexican and Kinky!

We will be adding more Radical Rubber colors to our inventory over the next few months, and continuing to supply our own brand of www.sheetlatex.com sheeting to keep a wide variety of colors, metallics, and transparencies available to you awesome latex crafters out there.
Again: Our apologies for the occasional shortage of latex sheeting stock on our store. We do plan for the peak demand we can imagine and then go above that up to our cash flow limit but sometimes unexpected events, like a Film production that’s hungry for latex sheeting being around the corner from our workshop, can throw off our calculations.
Turn on the AC/DC, we’re back in the black (latex).
NEW: it’s from Radical Rubber. Yes, we are starting to stock up on some radical rubber options to go with our own brand from sheetlatex.com
Please give us a few days to inventory and update our store. Thanks!

EDIT: APRIL FOOLS!!!
BREAKING BAD NEWS FOR LATEX LOVERS!
Apr 1 2012
NOTE: We here at Kinkengineering.com received a similar offer to purchase our business outright from China a couple of months back… so we are not terribly surprised to see this happening. When someone pushes high six figures across your desk… it’s very hard to say no. With Libidex falling to catfish, it will become almost impossible for us to compete - so I cannot guarantee that my business will not eventually move offshore as well.
Libidex, maybe UK’s largest latex design house was sold to Chinese latex manufacturer Catfish Latex. What Catfish Latex paid for the deal is a secret, but Libidex’s founder and now former head designer Simon Rose stated that the offer was to good to be refused.
The final details of the deal are not settled yet, but will be in the weeks to come by their lawyers. It seems that the takeover of Libidex sister company Radical Rubber, which was part of the original deal, needs to be settled through a separate contract and a new offer has to be made. Radical Rubber is a well known supplier for latex sheeting and its takeover by the Chinese manufacturer might effect the future latex sheeting supply for the smaller European designers.
Catfish Latex is China’s biggest latex manufacturer and has been a huge player on the international latex fashion scene since 2005. From their huge factory in Guangzhou, China, they have been supplying latex fans worldwide with a long range of original latex designs. Catfish Latex aims to move Libidex’s production to China in order to ensure low cost and high quality products to their valued customers.
The main reason for the acquisition was that Libidex is a marked leader and a long time competitor of Catfish Latex. Helena from Catfish Latex explained that this is just the first step of many to ensure Catfish Latex a strong position on the market and set themselves apart from the rest – making them the world leader in the latex fashion industry. “Everybody will eventually be wearing our latex designs” she concludes
Opening a can of crazy
Just because you are going to behave like a madman and threaten lawsuits and police action because I hurt your feelings by suggesting you should not steal from me does not make you A) right or B) sane.
Nor will it stop me from asking you to stop stealing from me. Because… well… you stole from me.
But, hey, you enjoy eating that can of crazy you opened up. But please… do the world a favour and eat it all up. I’d hate to waste all that good crazy when there are sane people out there lacking even a spoonful of crazy.
