Curie’s always been a clumsy, bumbling puppy.  The concrete floors in the apartment don’t help (especially not when we use silicone oil to occasionally polish something!)… but in the last two weeks, her clumsiness has started to become alarming.

She can’t walk more than 20’ without falling down, she topples over when she does her “business” and she has a lot of trouble getting up from sitting/lying positions.

We took her to the vet’s on Monday and after a slew of bloodwork confirming no infection was present, we made an appointment with a neurologist.  It appears to be some kind of congenital disorder.  We’re not entirely sure what’s up, and could spend thousands (that frankly, I don’t have) to diagnose her but at the end of the day, she’s just too young for surgery.  So it’s a waiting game.  She’s on prednizone and could get better, remain the same or get worse.  Since the likelihood of her getting better is slim/nil, I’m hoping she doesn’t get too much worse.  Then I’ll get her one of those doggy wheelchairs, a pair of doggles, and some streamers.  She’ll be the most badass dog on the block. :)
